Packing Gudelines
- It is advisable to pack light, and refrain from bringing valuables.
- Pack for daytime temps in the low 30s Celsius (85-95° Fahrenheit) and overnight temps of 18-20° Celsius (65-70° Fahrenheit). You can pack some light sweaters and/or shawls to ensure you are comfortable in the evenings and early mornings.
- There is a severe water scarcity at the yoga center, so please refrain from doing laundry or washing clothes. Please bring enough sets of clothes to last for the entire duration of your stay.
- Inside the hall: Only meditation cushions and small backpacks for your valuables and footwear bags are allowed inside the Adiyogi Alayam Hall. All items brought into the Hall must be white or covered in white; items in the sleeping and stay areas can be any colour. Food, beverages or water bottles are not allowed inside the hall.
- Essential items:
- A valid Government approved photo ID.
- Passport and Visa for overseas participants.
- Clothing:
- A minimum of 4 sets of white coloured clothing (worn during sessions).
- Light sweaters and/or shawls – can be white in color or covered with white sheet/blanket) if you will be wearing it during sessions
- Comfortable clothing for in-between sessions.
- Clothing style in India is modest- as a mark of our respect – please ensure your clothing covers shoulders, knees and midriff at all times for both men and women.
- Proper attire includes: ankle length pants for both men and women (no capris or shorts) and long shirts that cover upper arms and thighs (no sleeveless dresses).
- Please avoid tight clothes – both for your own comfort and as a sign of respect for the local culture.
- Loose fitting traditional Indian clothes like Kurta /Pyjama would be ideal.
- Footwear:
- Removing footwear before entering interior spaces is a part of the Indian cultural ethos. For your convenience, please bring footwear that can be easily removed such as comfortable, light sandals; or you can go barefoot.
- Please keep them in the footwear bag provided to you and keep them with you.
- Indoor slippers (never worn outside or in bathrooms), if desired for stay areas only (not to be worn inside the Adi Yogi Alayam, Spanda Hall, dining halls and temple space).
- Rain gear or umbrella (just in case)
- Bedding :
- As informed earlier- due to the scale of the event we will not be able to provide bedding (for Karunaalaka, Manoranjita and Parijata categories). We request you to bring your own sleeping bag and/or bed sheets, pillows and blankets.
- Temperatures in the night drop to 18-20° Celsius (65-70° Fahrenheit); please carry a blanket or thick bed sheet to ensure you are warm at night.
- If you wish to purchase bedding at the Isha Yoga Center, you can pre-order the bedding (bed, pillow, bed sheet, blanket) directly from http://chandragroup.com/shop/ . The deadline for ordering bedding is 5th
- In case you are not able to submit the payment by credit/debit card online, you can also pay by bank transfer: you can fill in the Google form (Order form for Bedding) and submit your details. Upon submission, the vendor will assist you for account transfer & on successful transaction, the vendor will confirm the booking.
- If the bank transfer is not possible, then you can send a mail to the vendor (Lgwwmis@gmail.com ) to reserve the bedding & you can pay upon arrival. The vendor can reserve the bedding & send back email confirmation.
- Yoga Mat – for your practices
- Flashlight
- Water Bottle: which you can refill and reuse
- Toiletries (shampoo, soap, toothpaste, etc.)
- Medications: Please bring your regular medications and other general medicines you might need. (Like medicine for fever, cough, pain relief etc.)
- Bug Spray/Mosquito Repellent
- Thin Cotton Towel (quick to dry)
- Toilet Paper rolls (if you need): Most of the toilets in ashram are Indian style without the toilet paper facility.
- If you are a light sleeper, you can bring ear plugs and eye masks to ensure a good night’s rest.
- Plug adaptor if required. In India C, D and M type plugs and outlets are used.
- Family members coming together should keep their belongings and toiletries separate, as they may be given separate accommodation (for Karunaalaka, Parijata, and Manoranjita categories).
- Mobile communication :
- To make the most of your stay and this opportunity of being with Sadhguru, you are advised to keep mobile phone communication to the minimum.
- Mobile charging facility will be very limited. Please do not leave your phones un-attended at any You can bring power banks for charging phones for essential communication needs.
- Wi-Fi facility is not available in Ashram.
- Language: The program will happen in English language. Live Translation for Tamil, Hindi, Telugu and Chinese (Mandarin) language will be available. In case you wish to make use of it, please bring your mobile phones with FM facility and headphones.
- Valuables: Due to the scale of the event, and influx of people, we will not be able to ensure safety of valuables in the stay areas. Please keep your valuables safely with you. We recommend that no valuables be kept in the room. It is advisable to bring a number lock for your bag.
